Product Information:
This site license covers the Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition.
General Information:
- Media and Licenses are sold separately
- Licenses can be used for standalone or networked installations.
- The media set contains the client as well as the Server Deployment tools.
- This product does not require the use of a product key.
- This site license is good through 06/30/2010.
Installation:
- Insert the media CD and follow the instructions to install either the client or the server tools. For more information on how to setup and configure the installation contact www.symantec.com.
- In order to install the site license software you will need (1) license for each computer that will use the software. You will also need (1) media CD that can be installed on one or multiple licensed computers.
- You cannot use the media from a boxed copy of Symantec software to install site license software.
Upgrades:
There are no automatic upgrades, however, if a new version of SAVCE is available to the MSU Computer Store, you may purchase a new media kit to use with your existing licenses. There is no need to renew licenses as they are valid through 6/30/2010.
Usage:
All Symantec software is the property of Symantec or it's licensors and is protected by copyright law. While Symantec continues to own the software, you will have certain rights to use the software after your acceptance of the license agreement. Except as may be modified by a license addendum which accompanies the software license agreement, your rights and obligations with respect to the use of Symantec software are as follows:
You may:- Use one copy of the software on a single MSU owned computer for each license purchased.
- Make one copy of the software for archival purposes, or copy the software onto the hard disk of your computer and retain the original for archival purposes.
- Use the software on a network, provided that you have licensed a copy of the software for each computer that can access the software over that network.
- After written notice to Symantec, transfer the software on a permanent basis to another person or entity, provided that you retain no copies of the software and the transferee agrees to the terms of the software agreement; and the computer is owned by Michigan State University and the user is affiliated with Michigan State University.
You may not:
- Copy the documentation which accompanies the software.
- Sublicense, rent, or lease any portion of the software.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, translate, make any attempt to discover the source code of the software, or create derivative works from the software.
- Use a previous version or copy of the software after you have received a disk replacement set or an upgrade version as a replacement of the previous version. All copies of the prior version must be destroyed.
